Ha Long Bay Cruise review

Ha LOng Bay cruise1

It’s almost midnight, and Ha Long Bay is ink-black and still. Her ancient limestone pillars have me surrounded.  I can’t see them now, but I can feel them, watching me like silent sentinels. All I can hear is the boat creaking, singing its nautical lullaby as gentle waves lap at the wooded hull. This is beautiful. Perfect. Just how a Ha Long Bay cruise should be.

Cathay Pacific First Class Review

“Would you like us to make up your bed now Mr. Mossack?” This was a request quite impossible to ignore after all, it was getting late and a few hours in a freshly made bed seemed a perfect way to arrive bright and ready in Hong Kong. Taiwan 205

The 50 metre high golden ram was clearly relishing its VIP status as the centre piece of  this year’s official opening extravaganza of the Taiwan Lantern Festival; its entire visage was lit up with lasers and strobes, as a phalanx of fireworks crackled overhead and I swear there was a cheeky smile cracking on its face.

Philippines 056

Corregidor Island is a must see for anyone visiting Manila with at least a passing interest in WW2 history. Just a short ferry ride from The Philippines capital, Corregidor Island is essentially an outdoor museum to one of the most famous battlegrounds in the Pacific, a strategically important island because of its position at the mouth of Manila Bay, it was brutally fought over by the American and Filipino forces against the Japanese invaders from 1942 to 1945.

Macau Food: A fantasy of fusion

21/03/2014 by .

It’s early evening and Antonio’s is already full. Mind you, it’s not the biggest place you’ve ever seen, in fact it’s what I call highly sociable, but that’s just part of its charm. Still, there’s no shortage of interest, a seemingly never ending stream of hopeful diners without reservations come through the door, only to be politely let down and sent on their way because when it comes to Macau food, this is the hottest place in town.
