Glamping at Elephant Lodge. Port Lympne Wild Animal Park
It is a little after 5pm and I am surrounded by giraffes. Rothschild Giraffes no less, the tallest land animals on earth. Under the circumstances, you would be forgiven for thinking I am in the Serengeti, or the Maasai Mara perhaps, but you would be wrong, because this is Kent, the garden of England and I am having a ball glamping at Elephant Lodge in the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park

St. Ermin’s Hotel. Discover London’s wonderful spy hotel, no password needed.
It seems the good Saint Ermin of Lobbes was a man of wisdom and sanctity and a bit of a dab hand at a prophecy or two. Rather fitting then that I happened to be visiting St. Ermin’s Hotel on his Saint Day (25th April for future reference) and even more apt, it was at one time the preferred meeting place for top British secret service types including SIS and MI5, who, through their own acts of wisdom could predict more than a thing or two themselves.

Roux at The Landau
Considering it was a Thursday night, spare tables at Roux at The Landau, the signature restaurant at The Langham Hotel in Portland Place were few and far between. Perhaps it was a busy night at the BBC studios just opposite, or perhaps the draw of the 5 course tasting menu for £65 was too irresistible.
