In the Bible, the Red Sea parted for the Israelites but there were no such favours for my golf ball. It sank into the warm salty waters of the Red Sea, about a forty-minute transfer south of Hurghada, to join the 1,200 species of fish that inhabit the 1,240-mile long coral reef.
