Newly built wildlife hides in the Tatra Mountains will allow snappers keen on photographing brown bears in Slovakia a chance of a rare close up experience.Three wildlife hides have been custom-built in Slovakia’s Tatra Mountains, providing guests with the unique opportunity to capture close-up images of wild brown bears in their natural habitat.
Tatra Photography has built the hides, giving guests on their photography holidays the chance to shoot once-in-a-lifetime images of Slovakia’s stunning wildlife, including wolves, lynx, wild boar, birds of prey and the European brown bear. Built in February and March 2014 while the bears were hibernating, the hides will be used exclusively for Tatra Photography’s three and four day wildlife photography adventures in the Carpathian Mountains, Slovakia. Remote Cameras were placed in potential locations in September 2013 to allow Tatra Photography to see which areas were frequented the most by bears before the hides were built.
“Tatra Photography has come up with a unique workshop that gives photographers the chance to capture images of the brown bear, one of Europe’s most endangered and enigmatic species,” said Matt Jevons, founder of Tatra Photography.
“Guests will be able to spend sunrise and sunset sessions in the hides, and guided by our expert tutor, they will have the chance to take home spectacular pictures of wildlife including wolves, lynx, deer and wild boar as well as bears,” continued Jevons.
The three hides are built in the Cierny Vah and Maluzina Valleys, and Tatra Photography has a contract to build a further six hides, including locations in the Liptovska Teplicka Valley. Budding photographers will be able to book inclusive three or four-night workshop packages to the Tatra Mountains including flights, transfers, accommodation and a professional photography tutor who will provide feedback throughout the trip.
Ben Hall, one of Britain’s foremost wildlife photographers is available to tutor workshops, offering expert tips to help guests make the most of their trip. The four day workshops in May with Ben Hall are available from £899 per person with accommodation at the Pension Vah Hotel.
