The silken pyramid range has won numerous taste awards the English Breakfast and Peppermint in particular. The Newby secret is simply sourcing fine ethical leaves in prime season and blending and preserving them to deliver full flavour first and second flush teas.

It’s a process that has earned them over 28 taste awards across north America.

This might be a perfect Christmas gift option, (there are also exclusive 100g gourmet tea caddies available)  or an opportunity to try and perfect that hotel afternoon tea experience. Either way, just follow the instructions on each bag and you’re bound to replicate an authentic fine tea flavour in the comfort of your own lounge.

You’ll just have to make your own cucumber sandwiches!

Randolph MacDonald Hotel 006274

The restaurant team were all looking a little smug as we were shown to our table at Restaurant at the Randolph, and rightly so considering the restaurant had just been awarded its third AA rosette. The Montague on the Gardens tucked away a stone’s throw from the leafy environs of Russell Square, may be not enjoy the celebrity status of some of Red Carnation’s top tier of properties, such as The Milestone for example, but has enough of owner Beatrice Tollman’s trademark artworks and fancy knick knacks about it to leave no doubt of its provenance. It is a stylish boutique hotel with all the hallmarks of Red Carnation’s service and its snug AA Rosette winning Blue Door Bistro is certainly an eatery worthy of a mention.
