Celebrity Cruises has revealed the first look into its new Suite Class restaurant Luminae and details about what premium brand Suite Class guests can expect from the exclusive dining experience.
Luminae, Celebrity Cruises first suite restaurant, will be introduced on board Celebrity Cruises’ modern luxury ships beginning in April.
Celebrity Cruises’ team of chefs has created bespoke menus for the venue’s complimentary food offerings – each menu item will only be featured once during a two-week cruise. With handcrafted dishes that are made from scratch, these unique menus will also feature locally sourced regional and seasonal ingredients inspired by the relevant destination the cruise visits.
“Everything about Luminae embodies an inspirational culinary journey for our guests. We want them to savour soulful, technique-driven cuisine, while enjoying warm and personalised service in a relaxed, stylish setting,” said John Suley, James Beard-featured Executive Chef, Celebrity Cruises. “The menus will be exquisite and guests can choose from dishes such as caviar and crème fraîche, a creamy black truffle risotto with fricassee of wild mushrooms and Parmigiano-Reggiano and a côte de bœuf with roasted root vegetables and béarnaise sauce.
The handcrafted desserts will provide the sweetest ending, and a favourite of mine is the mascarpone cheesecake and pistachio nougatine with yuzu brown butter and apricot sorbet. Every menu has been precisely designed with our guests’ varied palates in mind and we hope they will love our informal, luxury dining experience.”
Tableside preparation of signature dishes and daily presentation of a new chocolates and desserts cart are new initiatives, the menus are complete with pairings made by the restaurant’s dedicated head sommelier. The wine list, specially designed for Luminae guests, will feature more than 400 selections, each from the most notable wine-producing countries in the world.

Dear Andy , having just returned from a cruise on the Millenium in suite class accommodation , I can confirm that Luminae is available to ALL suite class passengers. As a result the restaurant was always busy and the service was varied . The menus were limited and unfortunatly were repeated on more than once during our 14 night cruise. Things have obviously changed since its opening a year ago. Eating in Luminae was however better then eating in the main dining room and the standard of food was higher than the food that was being prepared and served to non suite guests. Maybe we were unlucky but we did not see “Tableside preparation of signature dishes and daily presentation of a new chocolates and desserts cart “. Have these luxuries beeen withdrawn?
Interesting to hear this. Perhaps the TR team should go aboard and find out if the Luminae deserves to live up to its news billing. I think it is certainly worth investigating. Watch this space. Has any one else had a similar experience?
