Boutique Church Suites voted best designed hotel in the world. What an accolade.
The SBID International Design Awards is one of the industry’s most prestigious events recognising and celebrating design excellence. Held at London’s Dorchester Hotel, the Windemere based Boutique Church Suites, was selected alongside 14 other hotels from Iran, Indonesia and Chicago as the very best designed hotel properties in the world.
The awards were judged by international industry leaders, including Lewis Carnie, Head of Programmes at the BBC; Sir Michael Dixon, Director of the Natural History Museum; Ben McOwen Wilson, Director of YouTube and Jane Preston from Google, with this year’s awards representing industry talent from 41 countries. Owner and CEO of Boutique Church Suites which is part of the Cranleigh Boutique Hotel, Stephen Hargreaves, whose impressive property has had an exceptional year with nominations in over 12 national and international awards throughout 2015 commented:
“We are delighted to have been part of such a prestigious awards ceremony. It was a very high profile event and is the cherry on the cake for what has been another outstanding year for us.” he said. “Most importantly, we’re demonstrating that the Lake District can compete with big national and even international brands and that can only be a good thing for the region.”
The Church Suites launched in January 2015 to very positive reviews and were named ‘best hotel suites in the UK and second in the world’ by design-et-al at the International Hotel & Property Awards 2015
Hargreaves is currently working on the launch of an upmarket champagne bar in Bowness-on-Windermere, which will open in March 2016.
