08/08/2014 .The white, sprawled out, Moorland Garden Hotel is situated 20 minutes out of Plymouth in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. As I drove up the long drive the surrounds were really impressive. After all it had been the byword in glamour when it first opened in the 1930’s, with visitors’ ranging from President Truman to David Niven.

26/03/2014 .When I went to visit Pécs (pronounced Paych) the 5th city of Hungary I expected to find the grey uniformity associated with decades of communism. As if to prove me wrong the guide started her tour of Pecs by pointing out the brightly covered roof of the town hall, glinting in the sun, defying the long years when the colourful tiles had been covered over.
