Jersey based fine dining restaurant Bohemia retains its Michelin star rating for the eleventh straight year. This impressive run comes on the back of Bohemia being rated the 21st best restaurant in the UK by the Good Food Guide 2016.

Owner of Bohemia Lawrence Huggler is understandably delighted  “Jersey is renowned for its high standard of gourmet dining, and we are proud to be leading the charge in making Jersey a gastronomic destination on the world map. Keeping our Michelin star for an 11th year is an amazing achievement in itself but coming on the top of the fantastic rating, the highest ever for a Jersey restaurant in the Good Food Guide, makes this a special couple of weeks for us and Jersey.”

Bohemia’s Head chef Steve Smith was one of the UK’s youngest chefs when he gained his first Michelin star 15 years ago aged just 24 .

Steve comments: “We are delighted that our passion and commitment for offering the highest quality cuisine has been recognised once again. Our whole kitchen brigade has worked day and night over the past year to retain this accolade and I am overjoyed at Michelin’s decision.”

Situated on the ground floor of The Club Hotel & Spa in St. Helier, Bohemia has been one of Jersey’s top rated dining establishment since opening in April 2004. Smith’s emphasis on field to fork freshness is stuff of lefend on the island and he is regularly involved in promoting the Jersey culinary scene together with other top chefs on the island through regular festivals and initiatives promoting outstanding food and freshness.

“There is nowhere like Jersey for enabling field to fork freshness inside an hour” remarks Smith.
